OPENING OF BRÜHL TOWN HALL

Refurbishment and expansion of JSWD

The listed town hall in Brühl near Cologne has been renovated based on a concept developed by JSWD and expanded to include a new building. Made of light-colored clinker brick all the way to the gabled roof, the monolithic structure references the historic cubature of the town hall, creating a stand-alone building in a style that remains typical for the region. The three staggered gabled roofs of the interlinked structures are visible from the street.

The town hall and municipal library were reopened in December. The redesign of the adjacent Janshof (planning: RMPSL Landschaftsarchitekten) in 2024 will resolve the backyard situation and create a new high-quality, car-free urban space.
