A team of planners led by JSWD is creating the master plan.
In the future, the Bamberg Clinic is to be expanded into a healthcare campus at the Bruderwald site. This "one-site concept" is intended to future-proof the region's health care. The master plan in question was developed by JSWD in cooperation with the offices of BFS+ GmbH from Bamberg and Team 4 from Nuremberg and was presented to the Bamberg Building and Works Senate on December 7.
"With the site expansion of the hospital, the health city of Bamberg continues to gain profile," emphasizes Mayor Andreas Starke. He speaks of a "forward-looking step that is of great significance for the entire region."
The expansion of the site will take place in stages. The expansion will start in 2024 with the planning of new premises for psychiatry. Construction is expected to begin in 2027.
