3rd Prize for JSWD with a+a
Together with a+a, our partner firm from Luxembourg, we planned the expansion of an existing school from two to three classes along with a new all-day area for 270 students. The task also involved designing a sports complex with a three-part sports hall and a swimming pool. We are pleased to have won 3rd prize in the architectural design competition. The awarding authority is the commune of Sanem (Suessem/Sassenheim).
Based on our concept, the “Campus Roude Wee” in Belvaux (Beles) forms a belt with different schoolyards and lots of green outdoor spaces. The concept also integrates what is now the rear side of the existing school building into the expanded campus’ green belt.
The rows of gabled roofs lend the campus a child-friendly scale and fit in with the surrounding buildings while at the same time offering a high degree of modularity, prefabrication, and flexibility.
All submissions will be exhibited at the Sanem community hall from December 15 to 22. This will be followed by negotiations with the prize winners.
