The plans call for a globally unique permanent Wallpaper Collection at the Brüder-Grimm Square at the Kassel MuseumQuarter. The design submitted by JSWD Architekten was awarded the 2nd prize. The proposed new structure is destined to become the distinguishing structure at the square periphery. The adjacent heritage-protected Torwache will be integrated into the museum, but will nevertheless remain the independent principal feature toward the Wilhelmshöher Allee. The staircase at the connecting structure, which dates back to the 1950s, will act as the link. Deliberate material selection and formal simplicity make it possible to connect two solitary buildings into an impressive whole.
