JSWD in 1st place in the Rhein-Ruhr region
Every year, the platform competitionline determines which architecture firms have won the most competitions – not only in terms of different planning disciplines, but also by region.
We are extremely pleased to announce that JSWD has achieved first place in the architecture firm ranking in Nordrhein-Westfalen in 2024!
In 2024, there were a total of 64 planning competitions in NRW, putting the state almost equal with Baden-Württemberg, which had the most with 66. Our office placed in six competitions.
Here are our placements in NRW in 2024:
1st prize: Construction of new DEVK headquarters in Cologne
1st prize: Baufeld Ost 03 at Deutz Port in Cologne
2nd prize: Entrance and café building of the Grugapark Orangerie in Essen
3rd prize: Construction of the new Justice Center Cologne
3rd prize: Construction of new DEVK headquarters in Cologne (concept)

We would particularly like to recognize our competitions department, which is home to around 10 percent of our employees.
Architectural competitions or competitive processes account for roughly 90 percent of our projects.
