New interdisciplinary building for the UKSH
The building application for the so-called ÜE4 transfer unit has been submitted for the University Medical Center UKSH in Kiel. The construction project will create space for interdisciplinary collaboration between oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMF), ear, nose and throat medicine (ENT) and ophthalmology. The new building is being constructed on the site of the former ENT clinic and completes the construction master plan on the Kiel campus.
The 22,000 m² gross floor area will accommodate the joint operating theater, outpatient clinics, three nursing wards with 90 beds and the ordinariates of the three clinics.
Preparation of the excavation pit is already in full swing. The first concrete could be poured at the beginning of next year. Completion of the new building is planned for 2028.
