Providing Updates on Development Progress at „Hafentag“
In the Deutz district of Cologne, on the right bank of the Rhine, a new neighborhood is taking shape around the former harbor basin. The approval of Subplan A marked the start of development for the first section of the new neighborhood. Those interested can learn about the current status of the plans at the “Harbor Day” on September 5, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., in and around the historic vinegar factory. The program also includes guided tours of the historic mill and factory buildings, as well as tours focusing on topics related to the neighborhood.
JSWD, together with Kreer Development GmbH, the @Kölner Wohnungsgenossenschaft eG, and the Erbbauverein Köln eG, will present another of the first phases—Construction Site East 03—with an information booth. Our concept won over the jury at the 2024 competition: Two L-shaped structures, staggered in height, frame the spacious inner courtyard. Apartments—including many subsidized ones—are expected to account for a large portion of the space.
