The City Center of Porz has been nominated.
The projects nominated for the 2027 DAM Prize are now available on the website of the award organizer, the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt. We are pleased that our urban planning for the revitalization of Porz’s city center and its architectural implementation are included among the nominees.
Following the demolition of the department store ruins in 2018, the distribution structure for all underground parking garages in the overall project was first constructed according to plans by JSWD. This was followed by the construction of Building 1, which is located between St. Josef Church and the pedestrian bridge over the main thoroughfare. Approximately 50 apartments surround the inner courtyard—which serves as a playground—above the ground-floor commercial space.
We’re also thrilled for the client, die moderne stadt, the two architectural firms involved, Molestina architects (Building 2) and Kaspar Kraemer architects (Building 3), and the landscape architects at Club L94.
The shortlist—that is, the select group of buildings and complexes that the jury will evaluate—will be announced later this summer. So the suspense continues…
