In a central location in Düsseldorf, the construction of the so-called "Radschlägerhaus" is proposed. The new building closes the triangular construction field between Helmholtz-, Luisen- and Scheurenstraße. The front deliberately does not follow the property line to the street but is indented to the interior of the block. The resulting triangular forecourt facing Helmholtzstrasse forms an appropriate address for the new building ensemble with access to the offices and apartments. In the interior of the block, the two limiting legs of the forecourt are extended in depth, forming an X-shaped building that divides the interior of the block into three equal courtyards. The 6-7 storey building volume is stepped upwards in several stages. On the one hand, this takes into account the distance to the neighboring buildings, on the other hand, attractive terrace areas are created for the tenants.
